Mattress Store Comparison

There is one main goal with the Mattress Comparison Charts…find you the best price.  If you saw something you liked in a store, you can probably find a cheaper price online.

Retail mattress stores often make it difficult to comparison shop mattresses. Each retailer will have a different name for the same (or almost the same) product. Here are some tables to help compare brands and find the best price.

Please note the following before using the comparison charts:

  • It’s possible that some of the models aren’t exact comparisons. Companies sometimes put some kind of small “exclusive feature” in their mattress like an anti-microbial cover, or they change a layer of foam slightly. These should be considered “comparable models,” not necessarily exact.
  • Make sure you’re comparing the prices for the same size and whether or not a boxspring is included.
  • The price of the mattress shouldn’t necessarily be your only concern. Consider exchange/return policies, delivery fees, and delivery time in your decision.

This is only a few of the biggest retailers. There may be some other options, but these are the sites that I have found to be the most competitive.

Hi, we got a Sealy Barryton Plush king mattress from Costco about 10 years ago and LOVE it, but I need a new one and cannot find it anywhere. Does it go by another name? Is there an equivalent?

  2. Hi there!
Thanks for posting this site as it is very helpful!

My wife and I are looking to replace our 13 year old Sealy Memory Foam mattress with either a Tempurpedic or another Sealy since we were happy with our last one. I went to Mattress Warehouse and we both loved the Tempur-Breeze but like most people say, is it really worth it at the $3600 price point without being able to negotiate. We then laid on the Sealy Conform Platinum 200 Cushion Firm Mattress with Posturepedic Technology and liked that. I’m sure we could get that for a great price better than the $1900 list for mattress and box spring.

I have to note that I have been researching mattresses for about a year now and loved what I had read about the Nectar but the whole bed in a box scares me as I like to try something i’m going to sleep on before buying it… thus, MW had it on display and we laid on it. I thought it was ok but my wife hated it, so back to square one. She won’t consider a bed in a box needless to say!

Do you have any recommendations for mattresses similar to the Tempurpedic Breeze within a store setting? The new Pro-adapt is also nice but also around $3k, so not sure that is worth it either. Or what kind of deal do you think could be had for the Sealy I mentioned and what do you think about that mattress?

Thanks so much for your time!

  3. Hello,
I just bought the Simmons Beautyrest Recharge Dawson hybrid firm at Mattress Firm I was wondering if there is anything out there that compares to it that they would be able to price match?
    Thank you so much!

  4. What would be a reasonable price for the Mattress Firm Sleepy’s Reserve 14″ Plush Encased Coil Mattress. Also, are there any comparable mattresses that you would suggest ??

  5. Would you be able to tell me what would be the US Mattress equivalent of Mattress Firm’s Simmons Beautyrest Recharge Greenmont 13.5″?

  6. Any answer yet as to my question regarding Stearns and Foster pillow top, Villa Ascoli? Need to purchase as soon as possible.

    • Hi Arline,
Are you just looking for something comparable but cheaper? Or is there a specific retailer you would like to purchase from and trying to find the name under that store?

    • Not looking for cheaper. Just want to know if it is comparable to estate palace or any other Stearns and Foster.

    • Yes. Trying to buy it from Value City Furniture. Wondering if it is comparable to
      Stearns and Foster Estate Palace.

  7. I wish your mattress quiz was a little more flexible. I’m a back sleeper, but my wife is a side sleeper. Both of us are over 200 lbs. Our current mattress is a Sealy Posturepedic “Lore” model (which I can’t seem to find any details about online, so I think it may be a discontinued model) that we’ve had for about 3 years, and has some indenting on my side.

Do you have any recommendations? We are open to most anything, moderate price range, and also considering adjustable bases.

(The current mattress is under warranty, and I think the indentations are deep enough to qualify for a replacement, but I’m also guessing that the store will fight us, as this one is itself a warranty replacement for a previous model)

    • Hi Eric,

Have you looked into the Helix? It’s unique in that each side is customizable so it works well for couples with different sleeping preferences. It’s one of my favorites for the exact reason you’re talking about. You can check them out here: https://www.mattressnerd.com/helixc
